Local author to sign books Oct. 21

MATTAWA - Desert Air author Loretta Pomerleau, who grew up in Wenatchee, will be signing her two books, "Cemented Relationship" and "Satan's Child", at the Mattawa Public Library between 5-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6.

Pomerleau, who is a retired chiropractor, wrote the books 20-25 years ago and then set them aside. She fine-tuned them in the past year or so and went through a self-publishing company to get them on the book market. She recently received her first royalty check.

Both books are murder mysteries based on actual incidents in western Washington at the time the books were written. Pomerleau had her practice in Vancouver then.

The first book was about a woman who killed her own mother, chopped her up and cemented her in a wine barrel. The second was about a cult life that led to the death of a baby.
