MOSES LAKE - Sammy Hendrickson, a member of the Moses Lake girls swim and dive team, will represent the Chiefs in the state dive championships.

Hendrickson qualified for the big show last Friday when Moses Lake hosted 11 schools.

"Sammy has been working extremely hard this year and came through with an automatic state qualifying score," coach Tony St Onge said. "She joins fellow senior and team captain Courtney Schwiesow as the other Chief to have made the automatic berth."

Hendrickson qualified for the state championships to be held at the Federal Way Aquatic Center Nov. 11 and 12, after scoring 327.55 points for the meet, which was good enough for second place.

"She dove consistent during the event," St Onge said. "Sammy really ripped a few of her dives to get this score."

Beth Klingele from Eisenhower High School took first in the event with a score of 338.95. Hendrickson's teammates Hailey Garza (285.2), and Mary Woodiwiss (179.8), finished third and sixth respectively. The Lady Chiefs swim and dive team are back in action tomorrow at 4 p.m. when they host Eisenhower and Davis.
