MOSES LAKE - Students at Longview Elementary got plenty of exercise while raising money for their school last week.
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade, as well as special needs students, walked and ran in the school's 11th annual Jog-A-Thon, an effort to help fund new computers, field trips, assemblies, library books, playground equipment, and more.
Many local businesses helped fund T-shirts for the students, said Jog-A-Thon Chair Heather Roman. Dale Roth donated time to play music during the event and the Glass House Car and Dog Wash donated use of a generator for the music equipment, she added.
Students sought donations prior to the event. Some received one-time donations, while others received pledges for a certain amount of money per lap.
One parent this year pledged $40 per lap, said Roman.
