Lydia was born on September 16, 1954 in Mathis, Texas. Her father and mother were Guadalupe and Antonia Hernandez. Having fun and playing Jacks with her sister and cousins marked her early school years.
She married Rene De La Rosa on May 14, 1977 in Moses Lake, WA. In the mid-70s, Lydia received her General Education Diploma. In the mid-80s, she continued her education and attained a Child Development Associate. She worked for the Early Childhood Education Assistance Program for about 25 years. There she developed many cherished friendships.
She had three beautiful boys whom she raised with a tremendous love. They include: Danteali De La Rosa (wife Cecilia) of Moses Lake, Edgar De La Rosa (wife Myra) of Moses Lake, and Daniel De La Rosa of Moses Lake. Grandchildren include: Kayla, Malaika, Nchilija, Edgar Douglas, Lilyana, Ingrid, and Dante. Her deep love and devotion for her family was an inspiration to all.
Lydia gave her life to the Lord at a very tender age and served him with all her heart. She loved to sing, and won sectional singing competitions in the early-70s. She was part of the praise and worship team at El Sendero De La Cruz for over 20 years. Her passion for singing and her church was not more evident than when one week prior to her death she wrote a song list for the worship leader.
Her time in prayer and service signified faith of monumental proportions. Lydia would want all to celebrate with joy that now she is in the presence of her Creator, jumping for joy, and worshiping her King waiting until she sees you again.
