Big Bend hosts Holiday Hiring Event Oct. 19

MOSES LAKE - Job seekers are invited to attend Big Bend Community's College Holiday Hiring Event from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., on Oct. 19.
The free event is at the college's ATEC Center, 7662 Chanute St., NE, Moses Lake.
Participating employers are Aerotek, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin, Fastenal, Hastings, Home Care Referral, Moses Lake Senior Living, National Guard, Opportunities Industrialization Center of Washington, Pre-Employment Training Program, Safeway, SkillSource, Sol Case Management, Staples, Total Employment and Management, UPS Inc., USDA Forest Service and WorkSource.
Positions available include welders, youth development professionals, retail cashiers, certified nursing assistants, resident assistants, tutors, package handlers, tanker loaders and sales support jobs, said Ken Russell, career placement coordinator at Big Bend's Career Placement Center.
Some employers are looking to fill positions immediately and others are seeking help to get through the holidays.
The USDA Forest Service is hiring for the summer.
He described the available positions as a mix of part-time permanent and full-time permanent.
AeroteK and Fastenal are hiring people for career positions.
AeroteK is looking for welders and Fastenal is seeking sales support employees.
