Edith G. Pauley
Edith G. Pauley, 96, died October 5, 2011. Edith came here with her husband, Pete, in 1954. Farm work inspired her to become a teacher. Edith found her niche as a reading teacher where she passed on her love of books to hundreds of area students.
Edith was an ardent traveler. She was proud to have been to all 50 states. Yellowstone was a favorite with many hikes into areas most tourists never see. Edith white water rafted down the Colorado River three times. She also toured Europe, China, Mexico, Canada, South America, Australia, and Antarctica.
Gardening brought Edith much pleasure. Painting also brought her joy. Edith took numerous classes with family reaping the benefits of her talent. Knitting and crocheting produced colorful afghans now decorating family homes. Active for decades in Eastern Star, Edith was Othello Worthy Matron.
Edith is survived by son Kim (Susan), daughters Marcia (Charlie), and LeAnn; grandchildren Jed (Alyssa), Amy Fleming, Chris Buck (Chris), and Sabrina (Ted) Taala; and four great grandchildren.
