Manta Rays win big at home
MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Girls swim & dive team continues to swim well as the Manta Rays bested six competitors at the Moses Lake Invite Tuesday.
The team finished with 780 points, which was 265 points better than the Kamiakin Braves, who took second with 515 points.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Grace Hochstatter, Courtney, Schwiesow, Amber Garret and Victoria Dalrymple got Moses Lake off to a quick start, taking the event with a time of 2:00.19.
Schwiesow (2:18.77) and Hochstatter (2:35.22) continued to swim well, finishing one and two in the 200-yard individual medley. Hochstatter (1:08.34) also took first in the 100-yard backstroke.
Sammy Hendrickson, picking up where she left off last week at the the Mukilteo Invite in Federal Way, finished first in the 1-meter dive with 20 points.
Dalrymple led the way for Moses Lake in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 27.50 seconds, and the Rays 400-yard freestyle relay teams of Garrett, Jordan Richeson, Kelly Garrett and Schwiesow, and Abby Johnston, Cherie Fackrell, Bailey Hammond and Hochstatter finished first and second respectively.
The Manta Rays (1-2) in the 3A-4A standings are back in action tomorrow when they host an 11-dive meet. The competition gets underway at noon.
