Phoenix defeats MLCA Lions

MOSES LAKE ?- The Columbia Basin Phoenix knocked off Moses Lake Christian Academy 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-10) in CWB 'B' volleyball action last night.

The win improves the teams record to 1-4 in league play and 2-5 overall.

"We finally figured out our starting line up and then we lost two girls this week to injury and illness," coach Terri Pixlee said. "So we had Êto move two girls up from our JV team and added one more varsity."

Although the team has won only one league match, Pixlee said she's proud of the effort the girls put in.

"We have a lot of good players," she said. "The girls just need to get back to basics and learn to play together."

CBSS is back in action tomorrow evening when the Phoenix take on travel to Wilson Creek to take on the Lady Devils.
