Minor Paul Umberger Jr

Minor Paul Umberger Jr. went home to his lord and saviour at the age of 66 on Friday September 30th 2011. He was the son of the late Minor Paul Umberger Sr. and Helen Cunningham Umberger. He is preceded in death by his younger sister Elinor Frannson. Paul is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Umberger, three daughters Amanda Umberger, Amber Essman, and Andrea Kokborg, granddaughters Jessica Amanda Keesee, Heather Ashley Keesee, Latanya Renay Essman, Sarah Elizabeth Essman, grandson Stephen Paul Essman, great grandson Stephen Alexander Essman. His sisters, Lee-Cunningham Wood of Overton, Nevada and Mary J. Gauntz of Port Orchard, Washington. He was the beloved Uncle to Sharon Neidig, Garry Neidig, Steven Neidig, Nancy Woods, Minda Sines, Mark Mayfield, Tobi Hauseman, Julie Mayfield, Lynn Hunter, and Kurt, Kevin, Matthew and Michael Kleinsasser, all of which knew him well.

Paul received a Master's in Business administration from the San Diego State University and has built his business Dulcinea, which he founded in 1979. He began his career as a Navy Auditor then became a CPA becoming self-employed as a Management Counselor involved with Public Health, Grants, Taxation, Administration, Contracting, Indirect Cost and Corporate Structures. He lived in Washington, California, Colorado, and Alaska and traveled extensively for business and pleasure. Paul was most proud of his work in Alaska setting up the Indian Health Care System as well as the work he did to help so many with their finances. Paul served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He had many and varied skills which endeared him to many who became life long friends. Paul was a great story teller and entertained friends and family with tales of his exploits usually laughing all the way through.

Paul had a great love for dogs, he leaves behind his precious Chelsea, Charlie, and Brownie. Paul impacted and encouraged the lives of many with his contributions as a minister, financial consultant, and friend. He enjoyed traveling, theology, and sharing his beliefs with others.

The celebration of life services/reception will be held on Saturday October 8th at the Elk's lodge 814 North Stratford Rd in Moses Lake Washington from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Guests can sign the guestbook and share a memory of Paul. The family would like to thank the Grant County fire department, EMT's, and Jodi RN from Samaritan Hospital for the empathetic care given to Paul.
