Ephrata earns first league win
WAPATO - The Ephrata Tigers got their first league win of the season Friday as the team dealt a 33-13 loss to Wapato on the Wolves home field.
"It was good to get a win on the road," coach Jay Mills said. "Our offense got off to a slow start, but our defense got four turnovers in the first half to put us in position to score."
Leading the way for the Tigers were quarterback Tyler Clark who was 7-17 for 128 yards and two TDs, and wide receiver Jonnie Green hauled in three catches for 110 yards and two scores.
The win runs the Tigers record to 1-3 in CWAC play and 2-3 overall.
Ephrata hosts Othello Friday.
"They are a physical football team with a lot of talent," Mills said. "They have a good quarterback and running back Caleb Garza was the offensive player of the year last season, is it's going to be a real challenge for us."
