EVERETT - Backup quarterback Connor Kruse ran for three touchdowns and threw for another as Archbishop Murphy crushed Othello 34-0.

The Wildcats scored on their initial possession of the first quarter on a 15-yard run by Ricky Gordon to go up 7-0.

Kruse came in Midway through the second quarter to take over for starting quarterback Hans VanderWel who got banged up, and scored two touchdowns, to put Archbishop Murphy up 21-0 at halftime.

The first score by Kruse came on a 1-yard quarterback sneak. The second score, another 1-yard run by Kruse, was set up after the Huskies mishandled the snap on a punt to give the Wildcats the ball on the Othello 10-yard line.

Archbishop Murphy scored again in the third quarter on a 26-yard pass from Kruse to Gordon, and one more time in the fourth on a Kruse 16-yard run to close the door on the Huskies season.

Othello got inside the Wildcats 10-yard line three times during the game, but were turned back on each scoring attempt. Two turnovers inside the Archbishop Murphy 5-yard line didn't help the Huskies cause.
