Disgrace! I am a 21-years-of-service disabled veteran and am truly honored to have served my (our) country. People thank us for our service. "Proud" is what I feel, but humbled by the attention. The attention I received last night cut me deep. I, like many others, hung my stars and stripes out my front door to honor my veteran brothers and sisters to include my son, my brother and my nephew, who are still serving. Since there was a light shining on the flag it was proper to leave my flag out at night. I've had that flag since I left the service many, many years ago and was due to be properly retired. Now I don't get that chance thanks to the whatever or whoever that ripped it down late last night. If you believe it was your First Amendment right to rip down this flag, then all I can say is "you're welcome" from a vet.
