Reader enjoyed downtown event

Well, it might not have been one enchanted evening, but it certainly was a hallowed Halloween.

Being somewhat chronologically challenged, we felt somewhat "out of the loop," so to speak. So, we drove down to Laketown Landing to have a peek at what might be going on down there as we were totally unaware. The newspaper reported later that several thousand costumed youngsters showed up to get their treats and various candy or sweet meat eats.

It seemed to us that 100,000 children, each accompanied by at least one or more kindred adults, one, two, three or more sibling and/or friends without end, costumed as angels to Satanic fiends, were streaming through town in the most orderly parade one could possibly imagine. It was truly a scene to be seen. It was what this world needs now, stressed and distressed as it seems to be in all corners. Many grownups joined the costumed fun. The weatherman cooperated and not one business was to be outdone. It was an event that couldn't be over-rated. This was a moment in time in which, as far as we could see, no troublesome occurrence seemed to foment. As was pictured by the smiling faces of Carol B and companion.

Applause to everyone who participated. It was much more successful that could ever have been anticipated. After all the Laketown Landing downtown events ended, and the harvest sun went down, many, most, if not all the Halloween'ers went on to further celebration with more food, frolicking and fellowship at their respective schools, churches and maybe at homes, unmaked, unabashedly to wait another year before fantasizing once again their alter ego.

A great event Moses Lake, seemingly so smoothly it all went.
