Police question second forgery suspect

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake Police questioned and released a second teen in connection with the recent use of counterfeit $20 bills.

Last Thursday Jonathon Lowell Parton, 19, was arrested on four counts of forgery after Moses Lake Police stopped a vehicle reportedly linked to a rash of forged bills used at area fast food restaurants earlier this month, according to Moses Lake Police.

The U.S. Secret Service was notified and Parton's vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant. Two search warrants were obtained and several items were seized, police stated.

Another 18-year-old Moses Lake male has now been questioned regarding the counterfeit bills but was released pending further investigation, according to Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Ruffin.

"(Parton) will likely be the only arrest, however, the 18-year-old male may be charged later," Ruffin stated.

Parton was booked into Grant County Jail where he was being held without bail as of last week.
