Notice of Application and Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that a Conditional Use Permit application received by Grant County on September 30, 2011 from Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County (Grant PUD), Designated Contact: J. Darrell Pock, P.O. Box 878, Ephrata, WA 98823 (509) 754-5098 were found to be technically complete on October 31, 2011. PROJECT: A Conditional Use Permit for the mineral extraction and rock crushing of an existing surplus stockpile of gravel and rock from the original construction of Priest Rapids Dam. The crushed rock will be stockpiled and utilized when needed. The mined area will be re-vegetated with a native seed mix. A SEPA Determination of Non-Significance and Addendum was issued by the Grant County PUD No. 2 for this proposal. ADDITIONAL PERMITS: Air Quality Permit. STUDIES REQUIRED: Cultural Resources. LOCATION: The subject area is an approximately 32 acre portion of Parcels #15-0031-000 & #15-0029-000 (phase 1 is 23 acres+/- and phase 2 is 9 acres +/-). The site address of the subject area is 29086 Hwy 243 South, Mattawa, WA. The site is located approximately 6 miles south of Mattawa, WA, and in the northeast half of Section 02, Township 13 North, and Range 23 East, WM, and the northwest half of Section 01, Township 13 North, Range 23, East WM Grant County, WA. ZONING: Rural Remote. PUBLIC HEARING: Hearing Examiner meeting tentatively scheduled at 12:00 noon, December 14, 2011, in Commissioners' Hearing Room of Grant County Courthouse in Ephrata, WA. At this time any person(s) may appear and provide testimony. CONSISTENCY STATEMENT: This proposal is subject to and shall be consistent with Grant County Code, International Building Code, and International Fire Code.
