Albert "Al" Hollyfield
Al passed away after a brief bout with pneumonia. He was born in Cedaredge, CO to Ellen (Hollyfield) Potter and Hugh Hollyfield. He died in Puyallup, WA.
After graduating from high school, he served in the Navy during WWII. He married Winnie (Burdick) in 1947 in Montrose, CO. They moved shortly after from Colorado to Washington to take up farming. They had four children: Colleen (Roger), Renee (Russ), Pam (Bill), and Dennis (Carol).
Al farmed for several years just outside Royal City, WA. There he also served as a volunteer firefighter and as a fire commissioner for Grant County Fire District #10. He enjoyed his role in the development of the Royal City Golf Course.
Among his favorite pass times were anything involving family and friends, dinners "out", golfing, snowmobiling, and coffee with friends at the coffee shop. He was married to Winnie for 60 years.
They moved to Puyallup in 1998 to be closer to family. Winnie passed in 2009. Al is survived by their four children, five grandchildren: Cris and Kyle Hollyfield, Tobie Halpin-Higman, Levi Saxton, and Andreen Clausmeyer, and three great-grandchildren: Addison, Mac, and Brannigan.
He was a great dad, good friend, and wonderful man. He will be loved always and his memory cherished.
