Reader appreciates donations for Big Bend
The generosity of hundreds of people helped the Big Bend Community College Foundation raise more than $86,000 for scholarships at Cellarbration! for Education on May 21.
BBCC students are challenged by increasing costs for tuition, books, gas, food, housing and daycare. If not for the generosity of the donors, sponsors, auction bidders, and volunteers, fewer students would be able to attend BBCC and work toward a better life.
Since its inception in 2002, the money raised from Cellarbration! for Education has allowed the BBCC Foundation to provide scholarships to high school graduates, returning students, professional technical students, and to help students cope with financial emergencies.
Thanks to everyone who invested time, resources, and cash in BBCC students by supporting Cellarbration! for Education. You made a smart investment in the future of our communities. It is deeply appreciated by everyone in the BBCC Family.
To all the people who supported the event: "You are making a difference in the lives of people in your community." Thanks again.
