SPOKANE - He may not have finished his golf career with the round he wanted but Randy McNair did complete his time as Moses Lake Chief with a shot to remember.

The senior McNair entered the second and final round of the Class 4A state finals at the Qualchan Golf Course yesterday tied for 11th place. He would shoot a round of 79 to finish his two-day visit with a score of 154 and in a tie for 25th place.

But, McNair did end his career with an eagle on the last hole of the day according to coach J.R. Cox.

"He struggled early today but after nine holes he really settled down and grinded out an even par 36 on the back," Cox said. "He shot 34 on the back yesterday. The front nine got him a little each day but he showed he's not a quitter and played the back nine two under for the two days."

McNair went to Spokane with teammate Gabe Porter who missed the first round cut.

"I am proud of both Randy and Gabe and how they represented us," Cox said. "And what better way for Randy to go out with an eagle."
