ROYAL CITY - The two days Royal School District students didn't attend school last winter because of snow will be made up on May 27 and June 11, Superintendent Rose Search has announced.

The May 27 date was originally planned as part of a four-day Memorial weekend. The holiday weekend will be only three days.

The June 11 date will be the last day of school, replacing the 10th as final day. And it will be a short day, with students released about 10:30 a.m.

By law, Washington students must attend school 180 days a year, except for excused absences. Snow days must be made up and sometimes are built into the calendar.
