EPHRATA - Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones announced last Wednesday that a man wanted in connection with a Moses Lake shooting was arrested on the Mexican border on May 17.
According to Jones, Gilberto Valdovinos Medina was caught by U.S. federal agents while trying to cross into Mexico at the San Ysidro, Calif. border crossing.
Jones said Grant County detectives are preparing to have Medina extradited back to the county. He is wanted in the drive-by killing of Joaquin Serrano of Moses Lake on April 17. The charge against him is expected to be first-degree murder, according to Jones.
"The public is now safer because this murder suspect has been taken off the street," Jones said.
