Cattle Producers monthly meeting June 8
WILBUR - Updates on the state's budget woes and the planned slaughter operation at Odessa are on tap for the June 8 meeting of the Cattle Producers of Washington.
The general monthly meeting of the CPW will be held at Boyd's Place. It is located at 15 NE Main Street in Wilbur.
There will be a no-host dinner at 6 p.m. The meeting will get under way at 7 p.m.
According to President Craig Vejaraska, the state is approaching crunch time in budget negotiations that may negatively affect ranching and farming.
"They may want to tax farm things that we don't believe should be taxable," he said.
There will also be an update on the slaughter plant that is being developed at Odessa. It will be for pork and lamb as well as beef producers.
"There's a lot of hoops to jump through," Vejaraska said.
