Art appreciation class slated for Royal High

ROYAL CITY - Returning Royal High students are being offered a new art appreciation class next fall.
The class will be taught by art instructor Michael Holmes, who has helped numerous Royal students succeed in regional art competitions.
The class will be relying on the Glencoe/McGraw-Hill textbook Arttalk 2005, by Rosalind Ragans. It will be available for parent review the "Evening of Honors" on May 25 and at the Royal High library through June 3.
Course objectives will include: Identifying the purposes of art, understanding sources of inspiration, understanding art elements, understanding art principles and learning about careers in art, including technology, architecture and design.
