MOSES LAKE - Memorial Day signifies an unofficial start to summer and allows for many to take a moment to remember the fallen of wars past.

In Moses Lake on Saturday, May 28, BuDu Racing will hold the 2011 Spring Festival's Fun Run starting at 8 a.m.

The race begins at the Surf n' Slide Water Park and will head east going toward 5th Avenue out to Pioneer Way.

This particular run, a 5K, then turns east on East Nelson and north to Division ending at the Aquatic Center.

Another race, a 10k, follows Pioneer Way to Clover Drive onto Yonezawa Boulevard.

Then the race is to progress north to Division to Jones Avenue and eventually reach to Legend Lane onto Sharon Avenue to South David Street.

From there it is on to Monroe, to East Nelson and finishes up at the Aquatic Center.

Monday, May 30, the Spring Festival Triathlon/Duathlon begins at 8 a.m. at Montlake Park.

The swim will be off the boat launch and the run will be in the residential areas around Montlake Park. The bike race segment will go out to Division to Potato Hill, heading East on Baseline Road to Road K. and follow out to Road 1 until the turn around.

There the competition comes back to Montlake Park, and finishes with another 5K run.
