Ringold area spring chinook bank fishery closes

Notice this is the bank fishery only. Bank fishing for hatchery spring Chinook will end today at 9 p.m.
The area affected are the waters of the Columbia River adjacent to Ringold Springs Rearing Facility in Franklin County from the Fish and Wildlife markers a quarter mile downstream of the Ringold irrigation wasteway outlet to the markers one half mile upstream of Ringold Springs Creek, the hatchery outlet.
Returns of spring chinook to Ringold Springs Rearing Facility in 2011 have failed to meet expectations. No spring Chinook have been observed in the hatchery trap and very few age 5 chinook have been observed in the sport harvest since the fishery opened on May 1.
