CRESCENT BAR - There will be a festival of golf at the Crescent Bar Golf Course on June 3-5 when it hosts the first annual Member-Guest Tournament.

This event, organized by Jim Robinson, will be a feast of fun team golf. It will be played in five sessions with four different formats.

The entry fee will be $60 per team. Non-season pass holders will pay an additional green fee of $30. The fees will cover prizes, beer and soft drinks. Hot lunch and shots will be available on the course Saturday and Sunday.

This a men's club event. The two-man teams will be made up of one member and one guest. Guests will not be required to have a GHIN handicap.

For players with a handicap, the handicap will be used. For those without, a handicap will be calculated in accordance with the men's club president's formula.

In addition to team prizes, there will be individual prizes. Those will include closest to the pin on par-3 holes, long putts on hole 9/18 and most accurate drive on hole 1/10.

The weekend will begin with a horse race, which is not part of the tournament, on Friday at 6 p.m. Teams will be named by blind draw, pairing a member and a guest but not tournament partners.

Saturday's and Sunday's tournament rounds will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday's round will be followed by dinner at the Sandtrap Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. There will be a no-host bar at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday's first nine holes will have an alternate shot format. The member will tee off on the odd-numbered holes, and the guest will tee off on the evens. After the tee shot, partners will alternate shots through the hole.

The second nine on Saturday will have a best ball format. Partners will play their own ball through the hole and card the better score.

Sunday's first nine will employ the best ball format again. The second nine will be aggregate score. Partners will play their own ball through the hole and card a combined score.
