ARLINGTON (AP) - Rescuers have not found an off-duty Washington State Patrol trooper missing in the North Cascades.

They were following his snowshoe tracks.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Office says more searchers are joining the effort to find 46-year-old Trooper Dan Anderson. He was on a hike across the mountains from west to east when he activated his emergency beacon Sunday.

Rescuers followed the snowshoe tracks along a drainage in the Glacier Peak Wilderness at about the 4,000-foot level.

The tracks were near a steep ravine in a rugged and icy area.
