James Anthony Whitaker

James Anthony Whitaker, 62 of Ephrata, passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2011 after a year long illness with cancer.

James was born April 18, 1949 to George & Margaret Whitaker in Los Alamos New Mexico. James graduated from Omak High School in 1967, the University of Washington in 1972 and Gonzaga University of Law in 1975. He practiced law in Grant County for 35 years and established many long term relationships with his clients.

James "Jim" is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Payne) Whitaker, his daughter Samantha Mar and husband Wayne of Seattle and two sons Justin James Whitaker and Ryan Payne Whitaker of Ephrata.

Jim was preceded in death by a baby sister and his parents.

There will be no formal services at Jim's request. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family truly appreciates the outpouring of love and concern from everyone who knew Jim, and will treasure the cards, hugs and tears you have shared with us.

Arrangements are under the care of Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata, Wa.
