Grant County seeks water conservancy board applicants

EPHRATA - The Grant County commissioners are looking for an alternate member for the water conservancy board.

The board considers and adopts records of decisions for state water rights transfer application. They can also adopt fees for processing applications and accept grants to fund the activities of the board. It is a separate local government entity.

People applying for the position need to live in, or a county adjacent to, Grant County. The person appointed needs to attend 32 hours of training conducted by the state Department of Ecology, according to the county.

Board members are volunteers, but are paid for necessary travel expenses and costs related to training, according to the county.

To apply, people need to send a letter of interest to the Grant County Commissioners Office, Grant County Courthouse, PO Box 37, Ephrata, WA 98823.
