MOSES LAKE - Birds landing on a large transmission pole are suspected in a Monday morning power flash and traffic light problem on Stratford Road in Moses Lake.
The four-way traffic light at the intersection of Valley Road and Stratford Road was flashing off and on Monday.
Rita Bjork, of Grant PUD, said the traffic light issue was possibly because a breaker opened and closed at the Moses Lake substation, serving the area where the light is located.
The Moses Lake substation serves the former Larson Air Force Base area and the neighborhoods near Paxton Drive, Cascade Valley, Knolls Vista and the Grant County Fairgrounds.
No outages were reported after the 7:15 a.m. flash, Bjork said.
