| May 18, 2011 6:00 AM

EPHRATA - The Babe Ruth World Series returns to Ephrata this summer.

As the high school sports season winds down and summer baseball moves into the sunlight of the year's hotter months, the Columbia Basin River Dogs will host the World Series for the second time in three years from Aug. 6-13 at Johnson-O'Brien Stadium.

The Babe Ruth level of youth baseball consists of players aged 16-18.

Eight regionals feed into the tournament and the number of teams that will participate is still yet to be determined.

The Riverdogs, out of the Pacific Northwest, automatically qualify as the tournament host.
