strong offensive attack and solid pitching
COULEE CITY - A strong offensive attack and solid pitching carried the way for the Almira/Coulee-Hartline Warriors on Saturday.
ACH (20-1) rolled to a 17-3 win over Colton in a Sub-District playoff game and advance to the district championship game at University High in Spokane on Saturday.
The Warriors scored four runs in the first inning, seven in the fourth, and six more in the sixth, during a 15-hit barrage.
"I was very happy with our hitting today," ACH head coach Stuart Gloyn said. "We had worked on getting short and quick with our approach at the plate. Colton is a good team that is well-coached and fundamentally sound. If we face them again, we won't put up those kind of numbers again."
Jacob Olmstead pitched five innings for the win.
"Jacob had another good outing with very good control and command of his pitches," Gloyn said. "I was also pleased with Drew Isaak in relief, it has been nearly two weeks since he last pitched."
Brandon Boutain batted 4-for-5 with two RBI, Cash Caramandi ended up 3-for-5 with four RBI, and Daniel Hardy hit to the tune of 2-for-5 with two RBI for ACH.
