Fishing Magician Report - May 16th
One of my fishing buddies, Richard
Robinson from Leavenworth, and I made the trip down to Drano Lake
to fish with Shane Magnuson for spring salmon.
For the first time the weather was
clear and dry and very little wind compared to the other times I
have fished down there. The fish are in, that's for sure.
Shane had limits for his clients by 6
a.m. the first morning. They were having such a good time that they
insisted that we keep fishing and allow Richard and I to land a
couple ourselves. The fish are dime bright and very frisky.
The ones we landed ranged in size from
about 10 pounds to 18, but fish over 30 pounds have been taken from
Drano and off the Wind River this season. We trolled a variety of
offerings and caught fish on herring, prawn spinners and the Yakima
Bait MagLip Flatfish.
Most of our fish were taken "in the
circle" near the bridge, but we did get fish on the lake, too. This
is an ideal time to fish Drano Lake and the Wind River for spring
salmon. If you want to give it a try, give Shane a call and see if
he has some dates available to take you out.
