Letter carriers aim to end hunger

| May 14, 2011 6:00 AM

MOSES LAKE - The National Association of Letter Carriers' annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive takes place Saturday.

People are asked to participate by placing non-perishable food items in a bag and putting them next to their mailbox before the letter carrier arrives. The letter carrier will deliver the food to the local food bank.

Susan Hagaman, president of the Moses Lake chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers, said approximately 7,500 pounds of food was donated last year.

Donations can also be dropped off at the post office Saturday until 4 p.m.
