Meeting set to discuss county futures

OTHELLO - Several citizens of Othello and Adams County will meet on Tuesday, May 17, for discussion of the futures of Othello and Adams County.

The meeting will be held at the Othello Nazarene Church on Ash Street. It will begin at 7:30 a.m.

According to Kassandra Watson, business outreach specialist for WorkSource Central Basin, the goal is to determine where citizens want Othello and the county to be in 20 years.

Among those invited to the meeting are the Othello City Council, the Adams County Economic Development Council, Big Bend Community College, the Yakama Nation, WorkSource business and labor market staff and prominent citizens and business owners of the community and the county.

"This will be the first of many steps toward meeting long-range goals for the social and economic growth of the city of Othello and Adams County," Watson said.
