Hazardous waste collection day set

MOSES LAKE - Grant County residents will have an opportunity on Saturday, May 14, to dispose of household hazardous waste free of charge.

The hazardous waste collection will be held between 9 a.m and 3 p.m. at the Surf n' Slide Water Park in Moses Lake at McCosh Park at 4th and Dogwood.

The collection will be conducted by Grant County Solid Waste and the Washington State Dept. of Ecology. Waste will not be accepted from farms, businesses, agencies, governments, school districts or special districts.

Participants are asked to keep products in original containers with labels, secure chemicals so they don't tip over in transit and keep products away from children, pets and passenger compartments of cars.

You are asked not to bring latex paint, uncontaminated used motor oil, propane tanks, automotive batteries and several other items. You may call 754-6082, ext. 3508, for a complete list.
