George Alvarado

George Alvarado, 53, of Othello, died Wednesday May 4, 2011 at the Othello Community Hospital.

George was born on July 6, 1957, to Salome and Herlinda Alvarado in Raymondville, TX, the youngest son of ten children. His family moved to Dinuba, CA when George was a young child. In 1978, He joined the U.S. Army and served our country honorably until 1981 when he received an honorable discharge from the Army reserves. He moved to Othello and went to work for Carnation (J.R. Simplot now), a job he held up until the time of his death. He met Rosalva Abelina "Abby" Escamilla in Moses Lake in 1985, they married on December 14, 1985.

George enjoyed anything mechanical, he liked to fix cars and tinker with anything that didn't work right around his families home. He looked forward to traveling to the Pasco flea market to look for car parts and any other treasures he could find. He was a self proclaimed "Jack of all trades." His passion was his wife and children and he was especially happy when they were spending time camping in the mountains.

George was preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife Abby of Othello, Sons Jorge L. Alvarado of Virginia and Rene Alvarado of Othello, a daughter Brigida Longoria (Jaime) of Moses Lake, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 grandchild.
