Ephrata teams roll in CWAC final track meet
EPHRATA -The Ephrata boys team recorded three wins against East Valley (125-20), Grandview (123-22) and Prosser (105-39) in a Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) league meet yesterday.
Micah Ohl had another big deal for the boys, taking first in the 100-meter run (11.20) and the 200-meter run (22.92) while also being a part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team (Ohl, Jacob Green, Christian Nuckolls, Skyler Mann, 44.25) and the 4x400-meter relay team (Ohl, Green, Kyle Charles, and Steven Monda, 3:33.70).
Green was first in the 400-meter run (53.11), Charles took top billing in the 800-meter run (2:04.87), and Christopher Valverde (10:55.39) won the 3,200-meter run.
Evan McMartin won the 110-meter hurdles (16.64) and Josh Hill won the 300-meter hurdles (43.15). Taking the discus top spot was Jacob Laird (123-05) while Brad Christensen threw a 147-06 javelin for the win.
A high jump victory was recorded by Brendan Johnson (6-00) while Colton Bennett jumped 41-10.5 for a triple jump triumph.
Tyler Purcell's winning pole vault of 12-06 helped round out a dominant day for the Ephrata boys.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Barnes, Erin Monda, Gunderson, and Lauren Yount also won with a time of 4:22.91.
