Man sentenced for meth lab

EPHRATA - A Soap Lake man arrested during a search of a Quincy property is serving more than three years in prison.

Larry L. Dana, 52, pleaded guilty to the manufacture of methamphetamine in Grant County Superior Court.

Dana has prior convictions for conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of meth, leading to a sentencing range of five years and eight months to eight years and four months in prison.

Grant County Superior Court Judge Evan Sperline followed the prosecutor's recommendation, sentencing Dana under a drug offender sentencing alternative. Dana will serve three-and-a-half years in prison, followed by three-and-a-half years in community custody.

Dana was one of four people arrested when the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET) searched a piece of property on Road M.5 Northwest near Quincy, according to an INET report. Police discovered Dana sleeping in a camper on the northeast section of the property.

Dana admitted to having meth in the camper next to the one he was in, according to the police report. He showed officers the drugs in the nearby trailer.

The man was originally charged with possession of meth, but the charges were amended after a Washington State Patrol lab analysis found the components discovered during the search were used for a meth lab.
