Mariners home to take on Texas

SEATTLE (AP) - The Mariners have a day off after returning from their road trip with a 5-and-1 record.

They'll begin a six-game home stand Tuesday in Safeco Field with three against the Texas Rangers and three against the Chicago White Sox.

After sweeping Detroit and winning their first two at Boston, the Mariners were hoping for another win in Sunday's game against the Red Sox. Felix Hernandez struck out 10 in seven innings but left with a no-decision.

After 15 scoreless innings, Seattle's bullpen gave up a run when Jamey Wright gave up the winning hit to Carl Crawford. That scored Jed Lowrie who had reached third on a fly ball that Ichiro Suzuki lost in the sun.

The trip improved Seattle's record to 13-16.
