ROYAL CITY - Repairs of damage to the Royal High School gym in a recent wind storm will total $82,000, and the district will be responsible for $22,000.
According to Business Manager Sherman Clinton, the district has paid $11,000 to date. It will pay another $11,000 when the repairs are completed.
Sherman said the district's insurer agreed to pay only $60,000 because there was some faulty work in the original installation of the roof.
In other money matters, Sherman told the school board on April 25 that the fuel budget for the current school year is sufficient to handle the rising cost of diesel, even if it rises to $6 a gallon. He added that he will likely increase that budget for next year if prices continue to rise.
