by the Moses Lake boys and girls tennis teams on Wednesday.

WALLA WALLA - A tough trip to Walla Walla ended with dual losses by the Moses Lake boys and girls tennis teams on Wednesday.
The Chiefs boys fell 5-2 and the girls 6-1 to the host Walla Walla Blue Devils.
For head coach Jon Wrigley, the boys were led by No. 2 singles player Josh Black and their No. 3 singles entrant Tyler Knapp. Both won their matches against Walla Walla, with Knapp winning 6-4, 6-3 and Black holding on to win a tense 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 contest.
"The past four years Walla Walla has been one spot behind us in the standings thanks to a Chiefs victory," Wrigley said. "The Blue Devils were fired up this year as they had all ten players returning from last year's team. Both teams clearly had this date circled on the calendar. They were just deeper then us, we could not match up in doubles this season."
The No. 3 doubles team of Makena Jansen and Marki Koreis recorded the sole girls win, taking a 6-4, 6-1 decision.
"Walla Walla has not lost a league match and they have some girls who are just mentally tough and talented to top it off," Wrigley said. "Jansen and Koreis have really been playing well, they really put pressure on the other team."
