Kindergarten registration begins soon

MOSES LAKE - Parents can begin picking up Moses Lake kindergarten registration packets soon.

Kindergarten registration for the Moses Lake School District is set for Tuesday, May 10, from 6-8 p.m. at elementary schools throughout the district.

Parents can pick up registration packets at neighborhood elementary schools, the Moses Lake School District Administration Office, 920 W. Ivy Ave. or download them from the district website www.moseslakeschools.org, choosing "quick links," beginning Monday, April 11.

When registering a student, the student's birth certificate and up-to-date immunization records are needed. Students must be 5 years old by Aug. 31 to register for kindergarten this year. Schools will also request a verification of address - a PUD bill, for example - as proof of residency.

The following elementary schools are registration sites:

* Garden Heights, 707 E. Nelson Rd.

* Knolls Vista, 454 W. Ridge Rd.

* Lakeview Terrace, 780 S. Clover Dr.

* Larson Heights, 700 Lindberg Ln.

* Longview, 9783 Apple Rd. N.E.

* MLC/Discover, 502 C St.

* North, 1200 W. Craig St.

* Peninsula, 2406 W. Texas St.

* Sage Point, 4000 W. Peninsula Dr.

Students living in the Park Orchard Elementary School neighborhood will register at Knolls Vista Elementary School.

Parents of kindergarten students in the Lakeview and Longview elementary school neighborhoods should bring their children for placement assessments at the time of registration.

Parents of kindergarten students in the Peninsula and North elementary school neighborhoods are invited to meet the kindergarten teachers and get information about kindergarten activities they will invited to attend at their respective schools.
