OTHELLO - Playing host to their own Othello Invitational the Huskies exerted their dominance to claim and eighth title on Friday.

Winning the Invitational at the Othello Golf and Country Club par 70 course, the Huskies would score a 199 to hold off Prosser's 205.

Warden finished in fourth with a 213 and Royal took seventh with a 250 score.

Scoring was determined by taking the top two 18-hole finishers and the best nine-hole score from each team.

Othello's Trevor Salsbury was the top medalist for 18 holes with a score of 77 and his teammate Colton Hall was the nine-hole medalist as he ended up with a low score, 37.

Sam Para scored an 85 to finish in 10th over 18 holes while Jared Kummer scored a fifth best 44 over nine holes.

Warden's fourth place finish was sparked by Brandon Wurzer's 82 over 18 holes to end up in sixth place in his competition.

Caleb Caballero scored a 90 and Trent Bates a 91, while the Cougars' nine-hole top score was Conrad Ruge who finished with a 45.

Bates recorded the second best, nine-hole round of 41.

Royal's Kyle Spartveit finished with an 84 for an eighth-best 18-hole score.

Clifford Lestor ended up with a 70 over nine holes and Cody Janett and Hank Ellis each finished with 18-hole, 111s.

Royal head coach Andrew Perkins was pleased with Spartveit's performance.

"Kyle started out slow on the front nine with conditions near freezing but turned it around on the back nine," Perkins said. "One bad hole and he would have shot par, I look for Kyle to continue to improve this year and challenge for district medalist."
