SPOKANE - A last minute strike off of a headed corner kick gave Lewis and Clark a 2-1 win over Moses Lake on Friday, knocking the visiting Chiefs from the unbeaten ranks.
Moses Lake (1-1-1) and their hosts were deadlocked at 0-0 at the intermission before Lewis and Clark scored the first goal in the 52nd minute.
The Chiefs tied things up eight minutes later with a goal from Sean Cotton off a Jonny Cortez cross.
Lewis and Clark would untie proceedings in the 75th minute.
Moses Lake was outshot 14-9.
"We had a solid defensive effort from goalkeeper Luis Villa," Moses Lake head coach Bill Bertram said. "Also our defenders Kasey Grant, Tanner Hunt and Willy Ramirez and midfielder Sean Cotton showed solid efforts too."
Three Chiefs starters - Josh Stucky, Derrick Gonzales, and Martin Cortez - were out due to injury.
"The youngsters are learning that they have to pick up the intensity in order to contribute meaningful minutes," Bertram said. "We'll need to eliminate some careless play in the back in order to stay competitive."
