CASHMERE - A late rally by the host Cashmere Bulldogs kept the Royal Lady Knights from a bright start to the season.

A two-run Cashmere seventh inning gave the hosts a 5-4 win over Royal on Tuesday.

Royal (0-1) scored all four of their runs in the fourth innings.

"We had didn't hit the ball real well most of the game but during the fourth we were able to string together four hits in a row, allowing us to score those four runs.," Royal head coach Pete Christensen said.

Lindsey Christensen started on the mound for Royal and pitched the first four innings before being relieved by Haley Delgado.

"We needed this game to see what we need to work on," coach Christensen said. "For the most part we have a excellent group of girls that are willing to work and learn.  Hitting is at the top of your list.  We took good cuts at the ball, but tended to be a bit behind."

Royal knocked out six hits that came from six different batters.
