Beth Ann McVay-McCreary
Beth Ann McVay, 57, a 14 year Soap Lake resident, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 7, 2011 in Moses Lake, at the home of her fiancee', following an extended illness.
She was born on December 12, 1953, at Casa Grande, Arizona to Dale Kenneth and Margy McVay. She spent her early years in Casa Grande prior to the family moving to Othello, Washington. They moved briefly to Soap Lake and Brewster, before settling in East Wenatchee. She attended Grant Elementary, Sterling Jr. High School and Eastmont High School. She went to work as a Certified Nurses Assistant at Parkside Manor prior to becoming a mother to three daughters and homemaker. In the mid 1980's, She went to work at Lamb Weston in Quincy where she worked as a Prep Operator. She worked up into the early 1990's for Lamb Weston. In 1996, she moved to Soap Lake and purchased 5 acres of land where she enjoyed her horses and other animals.
She loved to fish, so much so that she would go fishing in the dark down at Crab Creek on occasion. She also loved being with her family, camping, being in the outdoors and even fishing in the middle of a snowstorm, with her daughter.
Her grandchildren always held a special spot in her outdoor activities. She had a benevolent soul and would always go out of her way to help others.
She had special friends in Soap Lake that were her 'Coffee Group". She took a special interest in caring for her mother even in the time of her own illness.
She is survived by her fiancée, Glen A. Gray, Moses Lake; her mother, Margy Keller, Quincy; three daughters and one son-in-law, Julie Ingle and Sherri Curiel both of Quincy and Marie & Danny Northrup, Ephrata; four brothers, Kenneth (Judy) McVay, Quincy, Dave (Sue) McVay, Moses Lake, Gayle McVay, and Danny (Norma) McVay all of Soap Lake; one sister, Nannette (Kevin) Johnson, Wenatchee; nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Kenneth McVay.
A remembrance gathering that will involve fish, will be held at a later date.
