ROYAL CITY - A farm employee helped the Royal City police catch two thieves Friday.

The worker saw a black Toyota pickup leaving Dorsing Farms, on Road 10.5 Southeast, near Royal City, with a variety of farm equipment, stated Kyle Foreman, the Grant County Sheriff's Office public information officer.

The employee followed the pickup, called the farm owner Scott Dorsing and 9-1-1.

Royal City police stopped the pickup at the intersection of Road E Southeast and Road 12 Southeast.

Officers recovered 22 custom made barbecue grills, rear axle and two tire rims, all valued at roughly $2,100, according to Foreman.

Mario Nunez Gonzalez, 46, Quincy, and Abraham Rodriguez Gomez, 42, Quincy, were both arrested for theft in the second degree and criminal trespassing in the second degree.

"The Grant County farming community is a great partner in our campaign against property thieves," Sheriff Tom Jones stated. "Observant workers such as Mr. Dorsing's employee are a critical part of stopping crimes."
