Ephrata teen's death a mystery

EPHRATA - James McCallin, 18, Ephrata, died of unknown causes Saturday.

Ephrata Police Chief Michael Warren said Tuesday it didn't appear that McCallin's death was suspicious.

"The young man was found deceased and there wasn't any evidence of foul play," Warren said. "We called the coroner and an autopsy is being performed. This is standard procedure when someone passes away."

The Ephrata police declined to release any further details.

Grant County Coroners Office is conducting a state toxicology report during the autopsy, which could help establish a cause of death.
