MOSES LAKE - The search for Robert B. Scanlan led emergency services personnel to comb several areas of Moses Lake Tuesday for signs of the missing 25-year-old man.

Grant County Search and Rescue and Moses Lake Fire Department assisted Moses Lake Police Department in searching the lake and shoreline around the Stratford Road bridge, Montlake Park and the landlocked portion of Moses Lake behind the amphitheater, according to Moses Lake police Capt. Dave Ruffin.

In addition to areas around the lake, searchers checked the areas between the Saucy Hog and Scanlan's home, as well as a few places in the dunes.

Information about Scanlan's last whereabouts is changing with investigative work by a police detective, said police Chief Dean Mitchell.

"The last place we know he was at was the Saucy Hog ... at 1 a.m. early Saturday morning," said Mitchell. "We are checking surveillance videos and are talking with witnesses."

Scanlan has known medical conditions and can have seizures, according to the family. They are worried about the effect alcohol could have had on him.

"The last thing we want is something to have happened to him," said Mitchell. "But we just don't have a clue. ... If something happened to him, it probably happened around the lake and that's why we are concentrating there," said Mitchell.

Police personnel were involved in the search as well as Grant County Search and Rescue, Ruffin said; adding that he was unable to say how many personnel took part.

Moses Lake Fire Chief Tom Taylor said his department had 12 personnel assisting.

Anyone with information regarding Scanlan's whereabouts is encouraged to call the Moses Lake Police Department at 509-764-3887.
