'Fight the Noise' concert set for Friday night

| June 29, 2011 6:00 AM

ROYAL CITY - There will be a "Fight the Noise" concert in Lions Park this Friday, July 1, as part of a week-long Vacation Bible School.

The concert, at 7 p.m., will be given by a Christian youth group, known as The Edge, from Everett. This will be their second visit to Royal City. It has puppet, drama, stunt and music teams.

"'Fight the Noise' is the name of their concerts," said local host Ben Orth. "There are lots of things competing for our attention - lots of noise - out there that try to keep us from coming to the Lord."

The week began with an open-air service in the park on Sunday. A food basket ministry and a work project ministry are planned.

The speakers at the concert will be Josh and Faye Butler, both raised in Royal City. They will be traveling to New Guinea later this summer on a New Tribes Mission.

The Vacation Bible School is a joint venture of the Royal Church of the Nazarene and the First Baptist Church.
